Does Santa Know Braille?

Of course he does! And he’s ready to send letters from the North Pole! Each year, Paths to Literacy provides information from various organizations that support braille literacy through their Letters from Santa programs. Deadlines for requests for letters from Santa are usually in mid-December. BrailleWorks and the National Federation of the Blind (NFB) had not announced those dates when TX SenseAbilities went to press, so please check their websites, https://brailleworks.com/santa-reads-braille/ and https://www.nfb.org/programs-services/early-childhood-initiatives/santa-letters, respectively, for updated information.

Paths to Literacy has also been working with NFB to create a braille design of Max, the dog from “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”, which they will be using with their braille Santa Letters, so be sure to check the Paths to Literacy website as well https://www.pathstoliteracy.org/resources/braille-letters-santa. It should be updated with new information some time in November!
