Assistive Technology Loan Program
TSBVI’s Assistive Technology Loan Program is a specialized lending library designed to provide Texas students with visual impairments the assistive technology they need to thrive in the classroom.
Originally established through the generous support of the Hoblitzelle Foundation and federal funds awarded through the Texas Education Agency (TEA), this program serves as a vital bridge for students, providing transitional equipment that enables students access necessary instruction.
How It Works
We provide short-term transitional loans of specialized adaptive equipment, designed to:
- Integrate Seamlessly: Electronic equipment made to adapt your local school district’s existing computer systems for accessible use.
- Support Independence: Provide standalone devices used exclusively by the student to meet their unique educational goals.
- Facilitate Learning: Ensure students have immediate access to necessary instruction while long-term technology solutions are being finalized.
Eligibility
This program is a statewide resource. Equipment is available for loan to any student in Texas who is eligible for services as a student with a visual impairment.
