Student showing manual graphing tools

Students will review the concepts and skills of graphing using a variety of graphing tools. Students will first solve and manually graph linear and quadratic equations. They will then explore technology for graphing, including the Audio Graphing Calculator (AGC). and the new Talking Graphing TI-84 calculator.

This class is best suited for students who read braille. Prerequisite math skills include knowledge of math facts for all four operations and some experience writing and solving algebraic equations. Braille readers need Nemeth Code skills for this task. Students should also be able to “touch type” the alphabet and number keys and have basic computer skills.

It is expected that all students will have access to the AGC on a computer at their school, and that a Talking Graphing TI-84 calculator will have been ordered for them through APH.
