Homemade Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 1 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- ¼ tsp. salt
- ¼ tsp. cream of tartar
- 2 tsp. sugar
- ¼ cup shortening
- ⅓ cup milk
Instructions:
- Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, cream of tartar and sugar.
- Using pastry blender, cut together shortening.
- Add milk.
- Knead dough together 10 strokes.
- Pat dough to about 1/2-inch thickness.
- Dip biscuit cutter in flour.
- Place cutter at edge of dough and press straight down.
- Place on greased baking pan.
- Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes.
Makes about 6 biscuits.
