TSBVI Residential Department
The TSBVI Residential department, the dorms that make up our physical buildings and the students and staff that live and work within those buildings, serve as our students’ home away from home when enrolled as residential students at TSBVI. TSBVI Residential students make lifelong memories and friendships during their evening time in the dorms. Their experiences and relationships formed while on our campus have a profound impact on who they become as students and who they become as individuals.
Our department has a proud history of providing outstanding, individualized residential instruction to students from across the state of Texas. The Residential department provides instruction in all areas of the Expanded Core Curriculum. Opportunities for learning independence in daily living skills, exploration of recreation and leisure skills, and social interaction skills are abundant in the evening hours.
Residential Instructors work in coordination with Dorm Managers, Residential Teachers, Residential Administrators, and other members of the instructional team in a collaborative and team based approach to providing supportive instruction and programming related to students’ learning needs and well being.
Local or “Day” students that reside within a 45 mile radius from TSBVI campus are not eligible to be Residential Students.
