- 1 egg
- 1 Tbsp. milk or water
- 2 pieces bread
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- Beat the egg and milk or water in a mixing bowl with a whisk. Set aside.
- Place butter in a large skillet.
- Heat on low just until melted.
- Dip bread into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.
- Drop bread into skillet and fry 1-2 minutes.
- Turn with tong-turners or pancake turner.
- Fry on second side 1-2 minutes.
- Repeat for second piece if bread.
- Serve with syrup, powdered sugar, or fresh fruit.
