Chicken a la King
Women’s Circle p.137
- 4 chicken breasts
- salt and pepper
- 3 heaping tablespoons flour
- 3 heaping tablespoons butter
- 2 cups cold milk
- 1 small jar sliced mushrooms
- 3 tablespoons minced parsley
- Season chicken well; boil until tender; cool and cut into bite-size pieces.
- Melt butter; add flour and stir until mixed.
- Add milk and cook until sauce is thick and creamy.
- Add cut up chicken, mushrooms and parsley.
- Season to taste and serve on toast or rice.
