About 3 cups sifted flour
½ teaspoon salt
6 teaspoons baking powder
1½ tablespoons lard or solid vegetable shortening
Water Mixture: Dissolve over heat, 2 teaspoons sugar and 2½ teaspoons cinnamon in about ¾ cups water.
Combine dry ingredients.
Add water mixture to make a dough.
Make 1 inch balls out of the dough.
Roll each ball into thin tortilla shape.
Melt lard or vegetable shortening in a skillet.
When the shortening is hot, fry the buñuelo on each side until golden brown.
Drain on a paper towel.
Sprinkle both sides with cinnamon sugar.
