Wrestling

The TSBVI team competes around the Austin area, in the South Central Association of Schools for the Blind, in the local UIL district, and state events.

Wrestling is a sport of grappling with an opponent and trying to throw or hold them down on the ground according to a code or rules. When wrestling with a blind student you must have contact at all times.

The students practice daily Monday-Thursday. Students participate in different weight classes starting from 106 to 285 pounds. The team follows the rules according to the UIL and the current N.F.H.S. Rule Book.

The season starts in September and ends in January. The Wrestling team at TSBVI participates in Austin Area UIL and SCASB events.

The cheer squad stands in the quad with balloons and posters for White Cane day.
