GoalBall

Goalball is the premier team sport for blind athletes. Our TSBVI teams compete in a regional tournament and the USABA National High School Championship.

Goalball originated in 1946 as a way to keep blinded WWII veterans physically active. Goalball has since become the premier team sport for blind athletes and is played competitively in 112 countries. Our teams compete in a regional tournament and the USABA National High School Championship which we host every year.

In goalball, the ball contains bells that sound when in motion and thrown at a goal at the opposing team’s end of the court. This is a popular sport that we play on campus year round. This year our school hosted the 2021 USABA National High School Goalball Championship.
