TSBVI ESSER III Use of Funds Plan

The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act of 2021 dedicated funds to the Elementary and Secondary School Education Relief (ESSER) grant. The intent of this grant is to provide education funding to address needs from the COVID-19 pandemic and support the safe operation of schools.

As a part of an ongoing process to assess needs related to the pandemic, and in consultation with the TSBVI Instructional Planning Council, the school’s site-based decision-making committee, the school prioritized spending the $10,524 received for 1) the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) authorized activity of Supporting Effective Instruction through the use of instructional coaches (stipends for teachers to serve as instructional coaches) and 2) student learning loss mitigation targeting students with disabilities (tutoring designed to prepare students to pass the STAAR test).

The school reserved funds to be expended to meet the 20% minimum required set-aside for learning loss mitigation, totaling $2,105.

Expenditures will take place beginning Summer 2021 and during the 2021-2022 school year.
