ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Analyzes Security computer programs during planning, implementation, and follow-up to verify quality and ensure activities and services achieve stated objectives and outcomes. Interfaces with vendor as needed and required.
- Provides technical advice, problem solving assistance, answers questions, and program goals and policy interpretation; refers to appropriate department person when unable to respond. Coordinates activities of program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
- Advanced proficiency in Google Drive and the full suite of Google Workplace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
- Prepares periodic reports, purchases, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
- Evaluates program effectiveness to develop improved methods; devises evaluation methodology and implements; analyzes results and recommends and/or takes appropriate action.
- Reviews applications or other program documents independently or in conjunction with supervisor to determine acceptance or make decisions pertaining to program. Interacts and maintains liaison with students, faculty, staff and outside/community agencies in facilitating program objectives.
- Plans and coordinates assigned program and its activities, to include purchasing.
- Ensures implementation of department procedures, protocols and practices.
- Responsible for training staff, new and existing, on all assigned systems.
- Supports Security Staff as needed as a Security Officer.
- Attends work regularly in accordance with TSBVI leave policy
- Complies with all agency policies and procedures
- Manages and maintains the Access Control Systems and Video Surveillance Systems,
including system monitoring, programming, reporting, and troubleshooting. - Primary System Administrator for Access Control System reporting. Generates
Custom History, General Event History, Access Level, and Portal Access reports. - Manage the full security credential lifecycle within the Access Control Systems,
including badge programming and permissions. Perform routine preventative
maintenance and baseline troubleshooting for badge printers. - Engineers and maintains recurring automated unlock/lock schedules for campus
portals, ensuring seamless facility transitions while maintaining strict security
protocols. - Maintains inventory and facilitates ordering badge supplies as needed to ensure
adequate stock is maintained to support operational needs. - Analyzes existing system procedures for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Responsible for assisting Program Supervisor in preparing and executing high-level
confidential reports, as well as locating, reviewing, and securely sharing confidential
surveillance footage in compliance with established policies, procedures, and
security protocols. - Utilizes advanced surveillance monitoring to identify and intercept unauthorized
persons, relaying critical descriptions and movement patterns for immediate
removal. Ensures all security actions are backed by detailed audit trails to maintain
transparency. By generating actionable intelligence, this role strengthens perimeter
integrity and partners with the Program Supervisor to align security efforts with
broader program objectives. - Centrally monitor and organize the departmental shared inbox, ensuring all incoming
correspondence is read, prioritized, and responded to promptly. Improves
departmental responsiveness and assists Program Supervisor ensuring that critical
safety inquiries or requests are tracked from receipt to resolution. - Coordinates event logistics by managing service requests and synchronizing parking
and signage requirements with the security team. Developed and maintains an
automated Calendar Alert System to streamline communication and ensure timely
sign deployment and retrieval for on-duty guards. - Collaborates with Program Supervisor to formalize operational standards into a
comprehensive Policy and Procedure Manual. This includes supporting the Program
Supervisor in defining emergency alarm response protocols, establishing
shift-specific duty outlines, and developing audit tools to ensure departmental
compliance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Advanced proficiency in Google Drive and the full suite of Google Workplace applications (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, etc.)
- High School Diploma or equivalent with 1–2 years of experience in a fast-paced
administrative, security, or technology support role - Effective verbal and written communications skills. Excellent organization and
time management skills - Ability to provide excellent customer service

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience working within a K-12 or Higher Ed environment is a plus
- Ability to predict challenges and seek to proactively head-off obstacles
- Ability to work in a high-level collaborative environment and promote a
teamwork mentality - Ability to apply analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Technical Skills:
- Expert-level use of Google Drive for file organization, Google Sheets for audit
tracking/reporting, and Shared Inboxes for departmental communication. - Ability to quickly learn and administer complex software (Access Control and
Video Surveillance Systems). - Experience managing automated scheduling (Google Calendar or similar) and
digital record-keeping.
