Electrifying News – Winning or Learning in 2026

Happy New Year! Welcome back from the holiday break and I hope everybody was able to get some rest amid possibly binging Strangers Things and more. Thank you G’Nell Price and Laurel Limon for your leadership on our Wellness Committee and for making the Holiday Party a success. Today is a travel day for students and school will be back in session tomorrow.

As a reminder, stay aware of any unauthorized visitors on campus. Please stop anybody without a badge or visitor sticker and escort them to the front of building 600 or call security if assistance is needed. It’s likely they need help and just missed the sign-in process. Our campus has always done well screening visitors and I appreciate our commitment to campus safety.

Thank you to the employees who completed the engagement survey in November and early December. We are reviewing results and will share the findings campuswide within the next two weeks. Your feedback is valuable and important for continued improvement at TSBVI.

Last month, a colleague shared a quote with me from Nelson Mandela: “I never lose. I either win or I learn.” As we move into 2026, I hope we all are able to learn from our setbacks and set new personal and professional goals for the year. TSBVI is a safe space for growth and opportunity and I plan to learn everyday along with you.

Have a great week!

Emily Coleman, Superintendent
