Electrifying News – White Cane Day Podcast
Save the date for White Cane Day on October 18th! Students will be marching in and around campus during the morning with festivities beginning about 9:30 am and speeches at 10 am. We look forward to a large event this year and hope many employees can attend. Scheduled events are anticipated to end at about 2:00 pm. Parking and reminders for staff will be shared closer to the big day.
Speaking of White Cane Day, our latest A Sense of Texas podcast episode is all about it. Featuring many voices from our community and a lot of students, Media Team members Nathan Widener and Colin Higginbotham did an excellent job producing. If you check it out, it’ll be the best sixteen minutes of your day for sure.
This week, a few of our staff are attending the Council of Schools and Services for the Blind Leadership Institute and American Printing House for the Blind Annual Meeting in Louisville. As mentioned in previous emails, five of our exceptional colleagues will be receiving national recognition for their work with our students on campus and around the state.
Have a great week!
