This afternoon, many of us will be attending a training regarding Deafblind Culture and some of us will also be participating in additional training if working directly with students who are Deafblind. Sessions will include information about protactile communication and you can also watch this wonderful video online to learn more. Tomorrow, we will have training on Blind/ Low Vision Awareness, too.
During today’s “Welcome” you heard about the new panic buttons located on classroom phones. As a reminder, these are only to be used when in imminent danger and you cannot dial 444 to provide more information. After school begins, more phones will receive the buttons.
On Sunday, we welcome students back at registration. Thanks to staff working longer shifts on Sunday and to those adding a workday to their first week of school. It’s so important we have that quality time with families.
Have a great week!
