Electrifying News – TSBVI Art on Display

Campus updates Conference deafblind

TSBVI has many in our community from our neighboring state, Louisiana, so in the spirit of Mardi Gras, laissez les bons temps rouler! For those who celebrate religiously and/ or culturally, I wish you a happy season of Lent.

Gretchen Bettes’ fine arts classes will be displaying some of their work at Vision Walk at St. Edward’s University on March 8th. Please come to see a sampling of the amazing pieces by the artists of TSBVI! Find more information online.

Congrats to our Outreach Team for a highly successful Deafblind Symposium with participants and presenters from around the world. Outreach Director, Erica Cairns, kicked off the event with the proverb, “We sit in the shade of trees we did not plant.” I remain grateful to all the tree-planters before me who have gifted us with programs, legislation, resources, and research positively impacting the lives of our students. We will continue to look for opportunities to plant more.

This weekend is daylight savings for the spring, so don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour on Sunday. Personally, I’ll be sad to see that hour go.

Have a great week!
