Electrifying News – Thank You Staff!
End of year events really kick off this week. Staff Appreciation will be Tuesday, May 7th, from 2:00 – 4:00 pm in the Pavillion outside the Outreach Building. If the weather is problematic, we’ll move indoors to the cafeteria. Pizza, snacks, and beverages will be provided. Tuesday is also Teacher Appreciation Day, so we will celebrate them along with all of our fabulous TSBVI staff.
Also on Tuesday, staff and students will participate in a swim meet from 4 – 6 pm if you’d like to stop by the Natatorium and cheer swimmers on. On Wednesday, students from Gretchen’s art class will be selling their art during the Annual Silent Auction in the Fine Arts Building from 8 am – 3 pm.
Also on Wednesday, you can check out the Special Olympics from 2:15 – 4 pm in the Big Gym starting with an Opening Ceremony. The Farmers Market will be open, too, in the Quad from 2:30 – 3:30 pm Wednesday. The final big event this week for students will be The Big Show from 9:30 – 11:30 am in the Auditorium. If you can’t stop in, you can watch it online.
Our final Mentor Center of the year is happening this week, so be sure to welcome our guests if you see them. On our latest episode of A Sense of Texas, we highlighted our online Algebra course taught by John Rose. Check out his work and insight from some of our short-term program students.
End of year festivities continue next week, so be on the lookout for further updates.
Have a great week!
