Electrifying News – Texas Monthly Feature
We are celebrating “Start with Hello” Week from September 15-19. This national initiative, created by the Sandy Hook Promise organization, encourages students to build a more connected and compassionate school community. Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to participate in various activities designed to foster new friendships and strengthen existing bonds. Stay tuned for more announcements next week.
IR has increased our wifi capabilities in common outdoor areas on campus. We hope this will provide additional spaces to work in the fresh air when able. Especially now that it’s slightly cooler!
At 3:15p today, our first Instructional Planning Council meeting of the year will take place in the Boardroom. Held three times a year, this group convenes to receive updates on a variety of topics and serves as our “Site-Based Decision Making” team as required for any school district in Texas. These meetings are open to the public and thanks to the staff and families willing to participate as members.
All Blind Children is planning their annual fundraiser to be held Friday, October 17th. The event will be in Austin from 6-9p to raise money for their organization. You can find more about the event and buy tickets online.
Finally, the Semi-Modulars were featured in the latest issue of Texas Monthly along with Dan Butler and Lacey Lewis! Access is available to the article online and you can also find it on newsstands. I’m so proud of our community to be highlighted in this way.
