Electrifying News – State Employee Charitable Campaign

I’m happy to share the following information on behalf of HR: “This is our last week to donate to the State Employee Charitable Campaign (SECC) and we need your support. Last year through the help of your donations, 19,000 Texas employees gave $5.1 million to provide meals to hungry children, service dogs for our veterans, support for cancer survivors, just to name a few worthy causes. Whether you’re passionate about education, health, financial stability, providing basic needs or other ways of supporting Texans, SECC is your place to be part of the solution. By making a donation to charities that you care about, you can build stronger communities made up of healthy children and families, thriving economic conditions, good education options, and more.”

As a reminder, pledges have to be renewed every year. If you choose to donate, you’ll also be entered into a drawing for one of three gift baskets. If you’re curious about the prize, you can stop by HR to check them out.

Last week, the Bistro had a “soft opening” on Friday and through word of mouth I was able to get my hands on chicken and waffles! Keep an eye out for campus emails with further Bistro updates. Last I heard, they were planning to serve brunch type meals on Fridays from 10-12.

Finally, TSBVI has hired a new Chief Financial Officer. Ann Du will be joining our team today and we look forward to welcoming her on campus.
