Happy Mexican Independence Day! Today’s holiday celebrates Mexico’s rise against the colonization of Spain on September 16th, 1810, which resulted in Mexico’s full independence in 1821. We’re also marking the beginning of Hispanic Heritage Month. There are many ways to celebrate in Austin including visiting the Mexic-Arte Museum or celebrating on Sunday at the Austin Central Library.
