Electrifying News – SHAC Meeting Today!

Campus Activities Campus updates

Welcome back from the Thanksgiving holiday, TSBVI! Campus was still bustling last week with contractors waterproofing the outside of multiple buildings, continued HVAC system work that required a crane on campus one day, and work on our firewall, which is crucial to network security.

Our School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) is meeting today at 5:00 pm in Zoom. Agenda topics include review of curriculum materials, healthy eating during the school day, and request for ideas for the winter newsletter. You can learn more about SHAC on our website.

Prior to the winter break, TSBVI hosted the Educational Action Committee and the Professional Preparation Advisory Group (PPAG). Both committees meet twice a year and discuss current issues in the field of blind, deafblind, and low vision education. We’re thankful for the participation of those across Texas who are committed to improving outcomes for our students.

Finally, thank you for your patience as we continue to address our phone outages today. For TSBVI staff, please see emails from our IR Director, Dan Hampton, with important details.

Have a great week!
Emily Coleman, Superintendent
