Electrifying News – SCASB Track and Goalball

This week, we’re hosting the South Central Association of Schools for the Blind (SCASB) track and field and goalball competition. This is the first time SCASB has added goalball to this event and we’re excited for the competition! Thursday and Friday, track & field events will be taking place at Nelson Field Stadium. The award ceremony and dance will be Friday night here on campus. We will be running the goalball tournament all day Saturday in our gyms with awards following the games. Good luck Wildcats!

The Semi-modulars recently released their new album, “The Notorious Envelope Generator.” Lacey Lewis shared, “Please join me in congratulating Dan Butler and the Semi-Modulars’ on the release of another album. If you see Dan, Crystal P., Zach L., Joel S., AZ J., Nathan C. or Drake G. around please congratulate them on all their hard work.” You can find the album online.

Short-term program teachers and staff are providing “The Capitol Experience” this week by taking students downtown to meet with government employees, experience hearings, tour the Capitol, and more. Understanding the legislative process is an important part of being an informed citizen. I suspect we’d all benefit from this class.

Finally, STAAR testing season is upon us, so please be mindful of email updates on this topic. Also, a small contingent from the Governor Morehead School for the Blind in North Carolina will be visiting campus on Thursday. We look forward to welcoming them.

Have a great week!
