Electrifying News – Rita Pierson

Happy Juneteenth! In honor of celebrating the emancipation of enslaved Black people, I’d like to recognize a favorite Black educator of mine. I hope this TED talk won’t be new to all of you, but I beg you to take seven minutes with Rita Pierson as she stands up for kids.

This weekend Braille Institute will be hosting the National Braille Finals in Los Angeles. Texas will have three finalists and all of them have attended our Short-term Programs. Find out more about this exciting program on their website.

Thanks again for another successful registration yesterday for Summer Programs. This week’s shout-out goes to Security, IR, CSR, the Cafeteria, and TFC for providing extra support, too. A lot of departments, including STP, work long hours for these four weeks and we’re grateful for the opportunity they provide students.
