Electrifying News – Kites, Art, Swimming, and Braille!

TSBVI Wildcats who attended the swim meet in Illinois this weekend all broke personal records and placed very well. Great job Sophia, Izzi, and Nate! Also, welcome back to the Spanish Club who completed another successful beach trip. Thanks to all the staff who sacrificed their weekends to support our student events!

Speaking of thanks, today is Staff Appreciation from 2-4p. We’re relocating to the cafeteria due to potential thunderstorms this afternoon. If the weather remains nice, you can definitely grab-n-go snacks and find a nice spot outside.

On Wednesday, we’re hosting our First Annual Kite Fest on campus from 4-7p at the track. Prizes will be awarded for highest flying and the event has been deemed “The Small Kite Fest with the Biggest Heart.”

Also on Wednesday, TSBVI will be holding our Annual Student Art Auction. This silent auction will be set up in the fine arts building 602 from 8a – 3p. Please stop by to see the beautiful art our students create, because you never know, you might find the perfect piece. The Farmers’ Market can be found that day, too, from 2:30 – 3:30p in the Quad.

Outreach is running our final Mentor Center of the year through tomorrow. Congratulations to Chrissy Cowan for her 54th event! She shared with me this morning that she’s never missed one. We’re also holding the Braille Authority of North America (BANA) meeting this week in the Hatlen Room. The braille expertise on our campus is about to hit an all time high and we’re happy to partner with AER to host this important event.

Have a great week!
