Electrifying News – Instructional Planning Council

A HUGE thanks to everyone who volunteered, planned, and supported White Cane Day last week. It was a phenomenal success and even highlighted by Fox 7 with interviews of Mary Rose B. and Devin G. about their new song. As you probably know, Mary Faith Cowart has taken on the bulk of TSBVI’s planning for White Cane Day for many years and this was her last year leading our efforts. I’m sure she’ll continue to be a valuable resource for future events. Thank you for all you’ve done, Mary Faith!

Outreach is hosting our first Mentor Center of the year through tomorrow. Thanks to everyone supporting observations within their classrooms and lessons. Be sure to give our visitors a warm welcome as they represent TSVI and COMS that are new and/ or in training from around the state.

On Saturday, October 28th, we’ll be having a power shutdown on the north side of campus to replace a transformer starting at 7:30 am. Buildings impacted include 4801, 577, 657, 640, 611, and the light poles in that area. Work is expected to be completed by 7:30 pm at the latest. If you have any questions, please contact Brian Swegle.

Our Instructional Planning Council (IPC) will be meeting today at 3:15 pm in the Boardroom upstairs in Building 600 and in Zoom. Agenda topics include assessment reports, results on 2022-2023 performance measures, the 2023-2024 annual improvement plan, and more. Thank you to the IPC members for your participation and engagement.

Have a great week,
Emily Coleman, Superintendent
