Electrifying News – Happy Thanksgiving
Great work at Family Day this weekend highlighting our students for their families. We appreciated the extra hours worked and attention to detail that made this day truly special.
On November 1st, our podcast “A Sense of Texas” released an episode about Interveners. We visited the Intervener Team Training and spoke to DB Project Team Members and Participants. We also spent time with Sarah Steele, LaJoy Oliver, and our student Yesdy who shared a moment from their day. Thanks for allowing us in your classroom!
This Wednesday is our annual TSBVI-Giving Dinner in the cafeteria from 11 am – 1 pm. They’ll be serving smoked turkey with homemade dressing, green beans, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, gravy, cranberry sauce, hot rolls, assorted milks, desserts, and tea. I hope to see you there.
On Thursday we’ll be having our Safety and Security Committee meeting at 3:00 pm in the Boardroom followed by a Board Training on the legislative session. Friday, the TSBVI Board of Trustees will be holding a regularly scheduled board meeting at 10:15 am in the Boardroom following committee meetings. Agendas can be found online.
We will be hosting TEA’s Texas Action Committee for the Education of Students with Visual Impairments on Tuesday. On Wednesday, we’ll be hosting our statewide Personnel Preparation Advisory Group. These biannual meetings serve an important role in the continual improvement of services for students statewide.
Next week, students and the majority of staff are off for Thanksgiving. For Classified Staff, Thursday and Friday are state holidays and Wednesday is an agency holiday. There will be no Electrifying News next week. I wish you all rest and relaxation and quality time with the people you love.
Have a great week!
