Electrifying News – Fiesta! Annie Jr.!
Happy Belated Mothers Day to all of you who are Moms/ Stepmoms/ Guardians/ Adopted Moms, and to everyone’s Moms, and to the people in your life who serve as a Mom! To those of you missing your Mom or other important women in your life, I hope you found comfort in their memories. As a Mom of 3, I felt very much appreciated this weekend, and I hope all the TSBVI Moms did, too.
Wednesday is FIESTA with lunch served from 11:15 am – 2:30 pm in the cafeteria! The menu includes beef or chicken fajitas, pinto beans, spanish rice, homemade salsa with chips, homemade guacamole, flour tortillas, sweet or unsweet tea, and an ice cream cup with toppings all for only $4.00. Activities will be happening throughout the event including music, cascarónes, piñatas and more.
Thursday at 3:45 pm we will be celebrating our retirees, also in the cafeteria. Join us in congratulating Stephanie Brown, Jim Clark, Toni Ericson, Sonia Fair, Cindy Kubacak, Sara Merritt, Haley Moberg, Julie Nielson, and Toni Provost. Thanks to each of you for your service to Texas students!
Many of you have heard that our Outreach Director, Kate Borg, has taken a position with the Utah School for the Deaf and the Blind and will be headed North this summer. We’d like to announce as of August 1st, our Outreach Director will be Erica Cairns, currently working as the Educational Specialist for blind, low vision, and deafblind students at Region 13. Welcome Erica!
Finally…it’s time for the Spring Play! TSBVI students and staff will be presenting Annie Jr. on Thursday at 1:15 pm, Friday at 7 pm, and Saturday at 7 pm. The Friday night show will also be played live online with the passcode: annie24. Although we have stormy weather today, in the wise words of Annie, the sun will come out tomorrow!
Have a great week,
Emily Coleman, Superintendent
