Electrifying News – Family Day!
For those who didn’t make it to early voting, tomorrow is Election Day! In a Voting Rights Address to Congress in 1965, Lyndon B. Johnson said, “Many of the issues of civil rights are very complex and most difficult. But about this there can and should be no argument: Every American citizen must have an equal right to vote. There is no reason which can excuse the denial of that right. There is no duty which weighs more heavily on us than the duty we have to ensure that right.”
Family Day is Saturday, November 9th! We look forward to greeting families of Comprehensive Program students to our campus. Our mission empowering students to live the lives they want extends to their loved ones, too. It’s critical we strengthen our community through strong partnerships with families.
The Southwest Orientation and Mobility Conference is taking place as we speak in Round Rock through tomorrow. Wishing attendees extensive learning and robust collaboration with colleagues. The National Federation of the Blind Texas is holding their State Convention this weekend in Dallas. I hate to miss it, but hope our student attendees gain much from the experience.
Our Business Office currently has a vacancy in the Cashier’s position. They’ll be operating as usual, but please be patient as they work to support students and staff until a new employee is hired and onboarded.
Have a great week!
