Electrifying News – Braille Literacy Summit
Increasing access to braille literacy instruction has always been a priority for TSBVI and our stakeholders. Recently, Curriculum Director, Angela Wolf, was invited to attend a think-tank with the best minds tackling ways to improve braille literacy instruction. To read about their work, check out this article online.The “braille-centered research priorities” they identified are going to positively change the lives of students and adults.
The Texas Emergency Assistance Registry should be utilized by anybody who may need additional support in the event of an emergency. In an event like Winter Storm Uri, for example, individuals on the registry would be sought out by emergency responders to check in on them. Check out the registry website if you’d like to learn more about it.
The NFB Convention will be drawing a lot of events and activities to the Austin area July 3-8. One group will be providing clinics and training on our soccer pitch on July 5th from 3-8p. If you’re curious about the sport, you should stop by to check it out.
This is the final week of TSBVI Summer Programs! I’ve heard so many great things from staff, families, and students. Wishing you luck as it wraps up and some well-deserved time off after. Taking a July hiatus, the Electrifying News will be returning August 3rd.
