Congrats to the TSBVI wrestlers who competed against local schools this weekend in Austin. Javier, AJ, Chris, and Jordyn represented us well!
This month’s episode of A Sense of Texas features our Friday Java Jam. If you’ve never made it to the Rec on Fridays between 9:30-10:30 you should definitely take a listen. Regulars should listen, too! This campus activity offers community for all and engaging career exploration for our EXIT students.
In February, we celebrate Black History Month. The federal government has a variety of celebrations with more info available on this Library of Congress website as well as resources for teachers. In Austin, the Carver Museum is holding a block party event on Saturday, February 7th from 12p – 6p.
This Friday our Board of Trustees will be holding a regularly scheduled meeting at 10:15a in the Boardroom within Building 600. We will celebrate our Outstanding Direct Care Staff Members as well as Board Appreciation Month. The full agenda can be found online.
I can’t share news this week without also mentioning the Super Bowl! As a Washington State native, I’ll be celebrating Blue Friday to support the Seahawks. If I happen to see a Patriots fan, I will respect your allegiance, and also remind you that Seattle will be the Champion. Looking forward to good snacks, a great game, and the Grammy Multi-Award Winner, Bad Bunny!
