SCHOOL PLAN

The School may receive a subgrant under Title I, Part A for any fiscal year only if the School has on file a plan approved by TEA.

Memorandum of Understanding

 The Texas Education Agency and the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired (TSBVI) by Commissioner rule shall adopt a memorandum of understanding to establish:

 The method for developing and reevaluating a set of indicators of the quality of learning at TSBV;

1.  The process for the TEA to conduct and report on an annual evaluation of the School’s performance on the indicators;

2.  The requirements for the School’s Board to publish, discuss, and disseminate an annual report describing the educational performance of the School;

3.  The process for TEA to assign an accreditation status to the School, reevaluate the status on an annual basis, and, if necessary, make onsite accreditation investigations; and

4.  The type of information the School shall be required to provide through the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS).

 Annual Review

 As a receiver of federal funds under Title I, Part A the School shall:

 Use the state academic assessments and other academic indicators described in the state plan to review annually the progress of the School served under Title I, Part A to determine whether the School is making adequate progress.

1.  At TSBVI’s discretion, use any assessments or any other academic indicators described in the Annual Improvement Plan to review annually the progress of each school served under Title I, Part A to determine whether the School is making progress.

2.  Publicize and disseminate the results of the local annual review to parents, teachers, principals, schools, and the community.

3.  Review the effectiveness of the actions and activities with respect to parental involvement, professional development, and other activities assisted under Title I, Part A.
