Assessment Competencies

Cluster 1: Use of appropriate and effective Assessment methods

Ability to:

1.1. obtain or develop tools to implement an Assessment of an individual or group of individuals.

1.2. assess the individual's most efficient learning medium or modality.

1.3. Analyze factors such as the individual's previous experience, preferences, strengths, limitations, and attitudes

1.4. modify assessment procedures to deal with unanticipated circumstances (environmental, learner needs, other).

Cluster 2: Assessment of Environmental Factors

Ability to assess the following factors to maximize the functional efficiency of the learner:

2.1. lighting

2.2. ergonomics (seating and positioning of the user, and positioning of equipment components)

2.3. efficiency of work space

2.4. impact of ambient noise

2.5. factors impacting the user's access to or control of equipment (e.g. limited hours of availability, shared work station)
