Samantha, Victoria Australia: What’s the point of sleeping when you’re having so much fun?

Kat, Victoria Australia: After Disneyland, it’s the happiest place on earth!

Tracey, Victoria Australia: It’s good, but I am sleep deprived. It’s a long way from home, but worth it!

Glen, Victoria Australia: Space Shot was good – but I think I left my stomach at the top.

Natasha, Victoria Australia: Even though some people sleep through the lectures, I find them exhilarating.

Kyle, Victoria Australia: Space Camp is a good cultural experience. It is lots of fun. You meet new people and enjoy yourself. To get here, I had to fundraise. That means doing sausage sizzles and writing to companies for sponsorship. For those of you who don’t know what a sausage sizzle is, you set up near a large shop and cook sausages (hot dogs) on a barbecue and add onions, tomato sauce (ketchup) and mustard. It is a 12 hour day from 6am to 6pm each Saturday. It’s a lot of hard work – but worth it in the end.

Deb (chaperone), Victoria Australia: Amazing things happen at Space Camp all the time! I walked into the shop here and there was a man wearing an Aussie 2001 t-shirt which we’d given to the sponsors (Space Camp employees) of last year’s students from Australia. He remembered Michael, the student he sponsored and asked how he was going this year. Then he whipped off and bought a gift of a t-shirt for Michael! I was completely overwhelmed by his kindness and generosity. Thanks Bret.

Nolan - Ottawa, Ont. - We had a fun plane ride to Huntsville, Albama. We are staying in the Habitat. It has 4 floors. I am on floor 2. My team is in Space Camp and is called Aldrin. We made a mission to Mars. Yesterday we went on a simulator that spun me around. It was really fun and I'd like to do it again. I go to bed at 11:00 pm, your time but it is 10 pm my time. I made some new friends. Billy comes from Montana. Some people on my team come from North Carolina, Mexico, New York, Ohio, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Food is good. I have had pizza, tater tos, hamburger, cubed steak and chocolate and vanilla cake. There is a cool store with lots of space stuff in it. But I have to wait until I can shop. We are kept very busy. I am hoping to graduate Thursday. Bye for now. Got to go.

Myisha A. - Philadelphia, PA - I am having a great time. I have met a lot of neat friends. I have enjoyed the simulators. I have scuba diving and thought it was great. I did the climbing wall but I am afraid of heights. By the time I got up to the top, I realized that I was afraid of heights. I didn't know how to come down. But with lots of encouragement I managed to come down.
