Poetry from Space Camp '99I sit here under pale lights,
pondering as on so many sleepless nights.
Of things to do, and more that must be done,
about challenges faced, and those yet to come.
Again do I think of my home,
far it is where the heart is they say.
But here among friends I felt not alone,
and my home doesn't seem so far away.
It amazes me still my friend,
to see us all so different come together!
Far we are united in cause, in an adventure with
no end, to soar as one, like birds of a feather!
Because we're all part of the adventure now,
in this place that leaves our perceptions spinning,
and I tell you my friends, although I know not how,
that is only the beginning!

Come hither my friends,
set by me for a while.
Each lost in thoughts none can defend,
with questions hidden behind a smile.
Do you ever wonder
what the thoughts of others are?
Secret worlds turn asunder,
revealing a beauty none can mar.
Worlds within worlds
beyond the ducking hands of time!
A reality of dreams unfolded
existing within the gardens of the mind.
So come hither my friends,
together we shall reach for the sky.
In a place where excitement never ends,
for we are as one learning to fly.

Again lost in thought
denied once more critical rest.
Toss and turn all for naught
for wild fires turn in my chest!
Fires of sweet emotion,
burning deep within my soul.
Embrace in hearts this ocean,
as we are swept beyond all control.
How to put it into words,
when none are needed to understand?
It's as if your dearest prayers were heard
and fate as seized you by the hand.
This place where the deaf can hear,
and the blind taught to see!
Where none know the bite of fear,
simply let the wild fires run free!
