Abstract: this article describes "Dots For Families," a website for families and others to learn about braille and how the young child might learn braille to develop literacy skills.

Designed by L. Penny Rosenblum, Ph.D., University of Arizona, and Linda Reed, M.Ed., Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and Blind Outreach Program for the Visually Impaired, this site is for families and others to learn about braille and how the young child might learn braille to develop literacy skills. Starting with the braille alphabet, families and others can learn to read and write braille through 15 short lessons.
