Writer's Workshop

Creating stories on a notetaker

Crafting words into a work of fiction

Jotting down notes from a brainstorming session.

June 22 - July 3

Sample Class Report (45k MS Word Document)

Come improve your writing skills while having fun with creative poetry, prose, drama, song lyrics, and opportunities to perform. Bounce your ideas off others for inspiration and feedback. Experience the writing process in a supportive group of your peers, with an inspiring facilitator. Community experiences will enhance your creative process. Students in this class will gain TEKS-related writing and language arts skills within enjoyable writing activities.

The workshop will be taught by a teacher of the visually impaired who is a published writer, teaches English Language Arts, is an active member of the Austin theater community, and understands the expectations that TAKS testing places on visually impaired students. His ability to inspire student participation through this creative writing class is truly awesome.
