Ingredients:

  • ½ lb. butter or margarine

  • 1 cup vinegar

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard

  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • ½ cup Worcestershire sauce

  • 1 cup ketchup

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1 clove garlic

Instructions:

  1. Mix ingredients together and simmer 1 hour.

  2. Remove garlic. Add cayenne pepper for hot sauce.

This sauce is good for daubing steaks, chops and ribs. It may be made in advance and stored in the refrigerator.

Yield: 1 quart.
