Ingredients

  • 12 ounces elbow macaroni (3 cups)

  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine

  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon pepper

  • 4 cups milk

  • 4 cups cubed American cheese (Velvetta)

  • 3 cups cubed ham

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions; drain.

For cheese sauce:

  1. In a saucepan melt butter or margarine.

  2. Stir in flour, salt, and pepper.

  3. Add milk all at once; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.

  4. Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes more.

  5. Add cubed cheese; stir till melted.

  6. Stir macaroni and ham into cheese sauce.

  7. Bake 30 to 35 minutes or till heated through.

Makes 12 side servings or 6 main course servings.
