The Top Ten Reasons to Join CEC and CEC/DVI
by Linda Mamer
I have been a member of CEC for over twenty years. I have gained many things
from my association with CEC and in particular, the Division on Visual
Impairments. These benefits include:
- The opportunity to meet committed and dedicated people committed to
excellence in the education of children and students in the field of Visual
Impairment
- Meeting people who work with individuals with differing abilities
- Opportunities to learning from educators from across North America who
work with children and students with disabilities other than blindness and
visual impairment
- CEC and CEC-DVI truly encourage active participation from student-teachers
and beginning teachers in a supportive and nurturing environment
- Having first class professional journals included in the cost of
membership
- The DVI Quarterly is an excellent journal that keeps us up to date with
activities and ideas
- Having a Canadian office and Canadian newsletters that address Canada
issues
- Reduced rates at great conferences in great places
- Great social events at the conferences
- The cost of membership is a bargain, even in US dollars?
