The Top Ten Reasons to Join CEC and CEC/DVI

by Linda Mamer

I have been a member of CEC for over twenty years. I have gained many things from my association with CEC and in particular, the Division on Visual Impairments. These benefits include:

  1. The opportunity to meet committed and dedicated people committed to excellence in the education of children and students in the field of Visual Impairment
  2. Meeting people who work with individuals with differing abilities
  3. Opportunities to learning from educators from across North America who work with children and students with disabilities other than blindness and visual impairment
  4. CEC and CEC-DVI truly encourage active participation from student-teachers and beginning teachers in a supportive and nurturing environment
  5. Having first class professional journals included in the cost of membership
  6. The DVI Quarterly is an excellent journal that keeps us up to date with activities and ideas
  7. Having a Canadian office and Canadian newsletters that address Canada issues
  8. Reduced rates at great conferences in great places
  9. Great social events at the conferences
  10. The cost of membership is a bargain, even in US dollars?
