Virginia Sowell Center Home Page - The Virginia Murray Sowell Center for Research and Education in Visual Impairment is an opportunity to continue the work begun by Dr. Virginia Sowell at Texas Tech University in Visual Impairment. It is designed to include an annual Distinguished Lecturer Series on the topic of visual impairment. The Center will eventually offer scholarships to students participating in the Visual Impairment, Orientation and Mobility, and Dual Sensory degree and certification programs. The Center is also designed to support faculty research and public service. Still in its infancy, the Center is evolving on a daily basis.

International Information on Visual Disability (TIRESIAS) - This web site is an information resource for professionals who work in the field of visual disabilities. The site has evolved from work carried out by Dr Janet Silver of Moorfields Eye Hospital, London and Dr John Gill of the Royal National Institute for the Blind.
Eye Simulation Page This application simulates eye motion and demonstrates the effects of disabling one or more of the 12 eyes muscles and one or more of the 6 cranial nerves that control eye motion. The purpose of this simulator is to teach medical students and doctors how the eye motion will change with pathology of the eye muscles and cranial nerves and what to look for during a standard neurological eye exam.

OREGON Project Information - The Oregon Project for Visually Impaired and Blind Preschool Children (The OR Project) is a comprehensive curriculum designed for use with children birth to six who are visually impaired or blind. It can be used by teachers or counselors in the home or classroom setting, by preschool classroom teachers who are working with young blind children, or by parents, nurses, psychologists, or paraprofessionals who wish to provide instruction to preschool visually impaired children.
