Incredible Intervener Idea! February 2004

Portfolio

Interveners have deafblind specific training. A portfolio helps you organize the training you have attended and documents your accomplishments with your student.

Keeping a portfolio is easy to do.

  1. Get a notebook or make a filing system.
  2. Use dividers or different folders to separate different kinds of information. For example, one division or folder might have attendance certificates and agendas from training you attended. Another division might contain the “Incredible Intervener Ideas” you have received so far. A third might contain photographs of an experience book you created with your student. A fourth division might have your completed “Self-Assessment of Competencies”
  3. Continue to add new material to your portfolio and, if appropriate, update old information.
