Bean and Weenie Bake
Ingredients:
- ½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon and 1 teaspoon of flour
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 cup of evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 cans (16 oz. each) pork-n-beans
- 6 hotdogs
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix brown sugar, flour, and mustard in a 2-quart baking dish or casserole.
- Measure vinegar; pour into a 1-cup measure.
- Stirring constantly, add evaporated milk slowly to vinegar until the 1-cup is reached.
- Stir the vinegar-milk mixture into the dry ingredients, mixing well.
- Cut hot dogs into sections.
- Add the beans and hot dogs to the milk mixture. Mix well but carefully so as to not mash beans.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until beans are bubbly and beginning to brown.
Makes 4 to 6 servings
