Hamburger Helper Crunchy Taco
Stove top:
You will need:
- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 2¼ cups hot water
- For Topping: ¼ cup milk
Directions:
- Brown hamburger meat in 10-inch skillet; drain.
- Stir in hot water, Sauce Mix and uncooked Rice.
- Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
- Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until rice is tender.
- Remove from heat (sauce will thicken as it stands).
- Stir ¼ cup milk and Cheese Topping mix in bowl 30 seconds; set aside.
- Sprinkle Corn Chips over top over hamburger mixture and pour cheese topping* over corn chips.
*If topping is too thick to pour, stir in an additional 1 to 2 teaspoons milk.
Microwave:
- 1 lb. hamburger meat
- 2½ cups boiling water
- For Topping: ¼ cup milk
Directions:
- Crumble 1 pound hamburger meat into 2-quart microwavable casserole or bowl.
- Microwave uncovered on High 3 to 5 minutes, breaking up beef after 3 minutes, until brown; drain.
- Stir in Sauce mix, 2½ cups boiling water and uncooked Rice.
- Microwave uncovered on High 8 to 12 minutes, stirring every 4 minutes, until rice is tender (sauce will thicken as it stands). Dish will be hot.
- Stir ¼ cup milk and Cheese Topping mix in bowl 30 seconds; set aside.
- Remove dish from microwave. Sprinkle Corn Chips over top. Pour cheese topping* over corn chips.
*If topping is too thick to pour, stir in an additional 1 to 2 teaspoons milk.
