Oatmeal Cookies
Ingredients:
- ¾ cup shortening
- 1 cup brown sugar
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 egg
- ¼ cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon soda
- 3 cups uncooked oats
Instructions:
- Place shortening and sugars, egg, water and vanilla in bowl.
- Beat thoroughly.
- Sift together flour, salt and soda.
- Add to the shortening mixture.
- Mix well.
- Blend in the oats and drop by teaspoonfuls onto a greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.
